SK Hynix will run out of production capacity of all series of memory chips next

In the third quarter financial report released in October,the company revealed that due to the surge in demand for artificial intelligence-related storage products,all its product lines of DRAM and NAND flash memory have been fully booked by customers as of next year.This trend shows that the comprehensive construction of AI infrastructure is significantly stimulating the market demand for memory chips.
In terms of performance,SK Hynix's operating profit in the third quarter increased by 62%year-on-year,reaching 11.38 trillion won(about 8 billion US dollars),and its sales also climbed to 24.45 trillion won,both hitting record highs.
As a core supplier of high-bandwidth memory chips(HBM)in NVIDIA,SK Hynix is becoming a key beneficiary in the AI computing competition with its leading edge in this field.
However,although SK Hynix currently dominates the market,the competitive situation is becoming increasingly fierce.Both Samsung and Micron are accelerating their catch-up in the HBM field.Samsung Electronics passed the qualification test of its advanced HBM products in NVIDIA last month,and Micron has also started to supply some HBM chips to NVIDIA.
In the face of competition,SK Hynix plans to consolidate its leading position in the field of AI storage through differentiated technical routes.The company plans to accelerate the transition to the most advanced 1c nanometer(the sixth generation of 10 nanometers)process that has achieved stable mass production,and expand the product supply based on 321-layer NAND flash memory.
Industry analysis predicts that the supply shortage of HBM will continue until 2027.The demand for high-performance memory chips driven by AI is profoundly reshaping the global semiconductor industry.
